Rule 6
Arrangements should be made for the safety of the accident site and the preservation of evidence
(1) According to rule 3, if information is received about an aircraft accident within the territory of Nepal, the concerned district administration office shall make the following arrangements as soon as possible regarding the safety of the accident site and the preservation of evidence:-
(a) not allowing unauthorized persons to enter the accident site,
(b) preserving the crashed aircraft and its parts without further damage or destruction,
(c) to preserve the evidence relating to the accident until such time as is necessary for the investigation,
(d) If necessary for the purpose of preservation of evidence, take photographs of the accident site and the crashed aircraft,
(e) Not to destroy, steal or lose the crashed aircraft, the goods in the aircraft, the body of the deceased or other things.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (1), if the state of registration of the crashed aircraft, state of operator, state of design or state of manufacturer requests that the accident site be kept safe until the accident site is inspected by its official representative, the contact officer may take the assistance of other agencies of the Government of Nepal as necessary. As far as possible, arrangements should be made to keep the accident site safe so that the investigation can be carried out effectively.
(3) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in these rules, the Liaison Officer may, for cause, issue the following order:-
(a) to remove from the aircraft, to remove or to keep in some other safe place such goods, corpses, dung or other valuables in the aircraft in order to protect them from fire or any other thing,
(b) To remove the crashed aircraft from the scene in order to maintain air traffic or to remove the obstruction and danger to the public.
